Just thirteen minutes from our Newark, Delaware apartments is a destination where greater Newark residents can explore and display their creativity.
It’s called the Newark Arts Alliance, and it features works created exclusively by local artists.
If you would like to find a unique piece for your home, the artists not to be missed include:
Katherine LeCocq’s work range from whimsical to evocative representations of the natural world. She started painting and drawing as a child, and creates in acrylic, watercolor, and pen & ink. Katherine calls Wilmington home and has exhibited her work throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
Since childhood, Carole Fox has loved making things. In 1988, she began working in clay, and wheel throwing quickly became her passion. Carole is drawn to spirals and curved lines, and layers several glazes to achieve depth and variegation. Her pieces are both functional and decorative, and they include bowls, vases, and plates.
After spending a decade working as an academic psychiatrist, Nancy Breslin decided to pursue photography. She earned an MFA at the University of Delaware, and her images have been featured in books and over 70 group shows. Nancy captures flowers, carousels, old buildings, and more.
Native Delawarean Val Walton loves everything about the “First State.” Many of her first paintings were inspired by local scenery. Today, she is working on a colorful series featuring the stunning landscapes of Oahu. Val paints from the heart in her home studio, and her pieces make for the perfect addition to any home.
The gallery also offers fun classes such as hand-painted wine glasses and beginner watercolor.
The Newark Arts Alliance is just one of the art venues near Foxwood Apartments. If you would like to call our community home, please contact us. We will gladly show you firsthand all we have to offer.Back to all posts
